Hot Off The Press

  1. 1 oz Tom Cat Gin
  2. 1 oz Amaro Ciociaro
  3. 6 oz Vermont Apple Cider
  4. 1 oz Fresh Orange Juice
  5. 0.5 oz Raw Honey Syrup (2:1)
  6. Nutmeg Garnish

Combine and heat Apple Cider, Orange Juice, and Honey Syrup.

Pour Tom Cat Gin and Amaro Ciociaro into a mug. Top with and heated mixture (above) and stir.

Grate fresh Nutmeg on top.Using amaro is a nice way to spice up a drink instead of making an actual mulled cider.  Experiment with different Amari as you’d like, some like Montenegro will be sweeter but delicious.  Nardini will add a nice espresso / dark chocolate aroma, and others like Fernet Branca might just be too intense and mentholated.

Tom Cat Boulevardier

  1. 1.5 oz Tom Cat Gin
  2. .75 oz Campari
  3. .75 oz Sweet Red Vermouth
  4. Orange twist Garnish

Combine Tom Cat, Campari, and Vermouth in a mixing glass filled with ice and stir. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and add garnish.

Prepared as an aperitif, a Negroni is the very definition of balance and simplicity.  Typically a Negroni uses a classic gin, and a Boulvardier cocktail replaces gin with Bourbon.  Tom Cat walks the line of being gin-bourbon so it works perfectly.  Using Tom Cat Gin, adds a deep richness to the classic.

In 1919 a famous Count by the name of Camillo Negroni, whom had spent some time traveling and drinking in the states, returned to his favorite bar in Florence, Italy and asked the bartender to make his favorite drink the ‘Americano’ but to make it more ‘robusto’ and sub out the soda water for gin.  And now we have one of most famous drinks in the world, and a bartender’s favorite.

  1. 2 oz Barr Hill Gin
  2. .5 oz Sweet Vermouth
  3. .5 oz Green Chartreuse
  4. 2 dashes Orange Bitters

Combine ingredients in mixing glass, add ice, stir, strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist. This cocktail also works well served over ice. Bijou means ‘jewel’ in french. The original recipe calls for equal parts, which is pretty intense. Then Dale Degroff in the 90s updated it to 1.5/0.75/0.75. With Barr Hill the proportions given work best! Cheers!
